Ms. Betty Bolte teaches the Harp Elementary Art Program. Students 1st-5th grade attend 45-minute art classes per week. The Elementary Art Program is designed to provide a wide variety of experiences through skills, materials, visual concepts, and creative thinking. A sequential curriculum that integrates the disciplines of art history, art criticism, aesthetics, and art production is used. Students work with a wide range of media and processes. Students will be able to explore art through disciplines such as drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, sculpture, and crafts. The Elements of Art and the Principles of Design are taught throughout all art lessons.
The goal of the Art Program is to support individual interpretations of ideas, thoughts, and feelings while providing opportunities for experimentation in a variety of media. Students are encouraged to explore and express their individual responses to artwork. |
